Ruth Arnold

Ruth Arnold, age 90 of Hamilton, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 11:05PM. She was born in Hamilton August 2, 1923 to Ralph and Bertha (Schatt) Hetterich. She was a graduate of Hamilton High School in 1941, and also a graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing in 1945. Ruth was employed at Mercy Hospital in Hamilton for 22 years retiring in 1987. She continued nursing at Butler County Care Facility until 2000. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. On June 7th 1947 in Hamilton she married Martin R. Arnold, and he preceded her in death in 1995.

She is survived by her children, Jane R. Driscoll, of Chicago, IL, Julie L. Hulett of Hamilton, Richard M. Arnold of Hamilton, Robert J. (Barbara) Arnold of Fairfield, and Sally M. (Timothy) Poynter of Hamilton; 8 grandchildren, Charles M. Driscoll, Peter P. Krumb, Jennifer K. Hulett, Polly R. (Jeremy) Coons, Alice M. (Lee Sharpe) Hulett, Betsey J. (Ben) Kelly, Joseph R. (Katie) Arnold, and Kenneth F. Poynter; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings Bertha (John) Vilkoski, Marc (Flo) Hetterich, and Howard (Peggy) Hetterich. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Martha Flatt, Marian Cisle, Roy Hetterich and Mary Hetterich.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 171 Washington St., on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 10AM with Father Jim Elsbernd celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Stephens Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 from 5-8PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
