Ruth Gibbs

Ruth Gibbs, age 74 of Hamilton passed away at her residence on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 10:53 AM. She was born in Morning Sun, Ohio on January 24, 1933 the daughter of Robert and Sally (Friend) Tharp. Ruth was a 1951 graduate of Camden High School. She was a member of Hamilton Christian Center. Ruth married Stanley Gibbs on March 7, 1959 in Hamilton. He preceded her death in 1995.

She is survived by three sons, Charles (Sandy) Gibbs of West College Corner, IN, Stanley (Holly) Gibbs and Phillip (Robin) Gibbs, both of Hamilton; one daughter, Sharon Cannon of Alamogordo, NM; one brother, Edward (Ada) Tharp of New Paris, Ohio; four sisters, Louise Bradway of Richmond, IN, Margaret (George) Kalugyer of Fountain City, IN, Rosetta Poock of Piqua, and Clara Baker of Centerville; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Marshall and Leon Tharp; and two sisters, Virginia Beach and Leona Tharp.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Johnny Wade Sloan of Hamilton Christian Center officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
