Ruth A. Koenig

Ruth A. Koenig, age 81 of Hamilton passed away at her residence on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 1:52 PM. She was born in Hamilton on November 16, 1927 the daughter of Paul and Clare (Brinker) Zimmerman. Ruth was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and was a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church. On September 8, 1951 in Hamilton, she married Joseph A. Koenig, and he preceded her in death in 2000.

She is survived by three sons, Dan (Pam) Koenig of Hamilton, Dick (Kim) Koenig and Tom (Cathy) Koenig, both of West Chester; eleven grandchildren, Amy Koenig, Angie (Dave) McClain, Andy, Kristin, Brian, Michael, Joe, Scott, Timothy, Christina and Alina Koenig; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Mary Jo Koenig and an infant daughter; granddaughter, Jennifer Koenig in 1999; two brothers, Paul and Bob Zimmerman; and two sisters, Catherine Schneider and Elaine Curtis.

Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 from 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM. Prayer service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Avenue, at 11:00 AM with Fr. Timothy Bunch, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be directed to Badin High School or St. Peter in Chains Church.
