Ruth J. Miles

Ruth J. Miles, age 83 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 12:35 PM. She was born in Pomeroy, Ohio on July 8, 1926 the daughter of John and Alice (Hood) Durst. On June 9, 1951 in Cincinnati she married Kenneth D. Miles, and he preceded her in death in 2002.

She is survived by two daughters, Claire (Alan) Kauffung of Fairfield and Lois (Lee) Dees of Englewood, Florida; two grandchildren, Jason (Holly) Dees and Justin Dees; two great-grandchildren, Jace Patrick and Jesse Michael Dees; three sisters-in-law, Mildred Durst of Cincinnati, Bonnie Durst of Zanesville, Ohio and Mae (Louis) Hoff of Cincinnati; close family friend Kathy Blanton of Hamersville, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clarence, Norman, and Richard Durst; and four sisters, Hilda Roettinger, Lillian Durst, Carol Doebrich, and Imogene Hanson.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jacob Flannery officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or the charity of one’s choice.
