Rydder Daniel Stevens Ames

Our warrior, Rydder Daniel Stevens Ames, went home to be with Jesus while surrounded by family on June 4th, 2023 at the age of 8, after a 14 month battle with brain cancer. Rydder was born in Hamilton, Ohio on January 30th, 2015 to parents, Krista Stevens and Brian Ames. Rydder loved his brothers, Walker and Sawyer more than anything, they were truly best friends. He was so kind and loving when it came to them both. He always told his mom that when they grew up, he was going to have a wife and kids, and that Walker would live with him so he could take care of him. Rydder was such an energetic and adventurous, little boy that loved getting into mischief, especially when everyone was least expecting it. He was so bright and had the world at his fingertips. He was very inquisitive and would keep you on your toes, daily. Rydder’s favorite hobbies included fishing with his dad, playing Fortnite on the computer and playing games with his mom. He also enjoyed playing dress up and painting his nails with all of his cousins, doing anything and everything with his Mimi, staying the night at Grandma Dena’s house and getting spoiled by his Uncle Jonny & Aunt Summer. Rydder loved spending his vacations in Myrtle Beach while camping with his family & going to Michigan a few times a year to go to Aunt Niki’s house. Rydder was very passionate about church, he attended Kerusso Baptist Church. He loved God and his church family. And would never miss a Sunday service. Rydder will be dearly missed by his loving parents, Brian Ames & Krista Stevens; his brothers, Walker & Sawyer Ames; his Grandma, Dena Wetter; his Papa, Michael Stevens; his Grammie, Leslie Wilson-Ames; his Grandpa, Daniel Ames; his Great Grandma, Marie Chrysler Hamilton; his Great Grandpa, William Hamilton; his Tia, Amber Stevens Barr (Tyler Barr), his Mimi, Jaime Wolfe (Jeff Wolfe); his Aunt, Kendra Simpson (Mike Simpson), and his uncles, Jonathon Stevens (Summer Stevens) Timothy Ames, and Todd Miller; his cousins: Kennedi, Jaimee, Lincoln, Bobbi, Ella, Jaden, Jordan, Jaelyn, Justice, Jocelyn, Hallie, Layla, Sophie, Brayden Lucas, Paislee and Liam; his Great Aunts, Ila Wetter, Tara Wetter, Niki Goward (Matt Goward), And Mary Mead; Great Uncle Ken Stevens (DJ Stevens). As well as many extended family members and friends that have supported his journey, those of too many to mention all by name. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, June 17th, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NOON at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, OH 45013. Following will be a Celebration of Life at 12:00 NOON. We would like if all attending Rydder’s Celebration could wear their Rydder Strong shirts, grey for brain cancer or Rydder’s favorite color blue. Following the Celebration of Life, attendees are welcomed to follow in procession to continue celebrating Rydder’s life. Flowers are welcome but instead please consider a memorial donation to:
