Sally Jennings

March 18, 1922 — February 11, 2009

Sally Jennings, age 86 of Fairfield went home to be with her Lord at Mercy Hospital Fairfield on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 5:45 AM. She was born in Orlando, Kentucky on March 18, 1922 the daughter of Logan and Mary (Singleton) McGuire. Sally was a skilled homemaker who was lovingly devoted to her family, and will be sadly missed by all. She was a charter member of Hamilton Church of God. On October 31, 1939 in Wolf Creek, Kentucky she married Hubert Jennings, and they were happily married for 63 years when he passed away in 2003.

She is survived by one son, William (Marlene) Jennings of Hamilton; three daughters, Doris Short of Cincinnati, Mary Robbins of Fairfield, and Kim (Mike) Fields of Hamilton; six grandchildren, Michele (Jim) Johnson, Deborah (Sean) Barton, Amy (Brent) Lovelace, Miranda Fields, Brittany Fields, and Michael Penn; eight great-grandchildren, Jimmy (Jordan) Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, Jordan Lovelace, Adrianna Lovelace, Eli Lovelace, Collin Barton, Conner Barton, and Skyler Barton; one great-great-grandchild, Julia Johnson; five sisters, Cuma Abney of Burleson, Texas, Alma VanZant, Evelyn Lackey, Wanda (Frank) Mason, and Vernetta (Jack) Lakes, all of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky; and special family members Thelma (Hank) Fledderman of West Chester, Jean Swartz of West Chester, Pat Pflum of Fairfield, Lola White of Mason, Sue Cox of Dayton, Junior (Thelma) Mullins of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, and Stanley Mullins of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Phyllis Penn.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Alan Weaver, Pastor of Hamilton Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hamilton Church of God Scholarship Fund. Sally’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staffs on 3B at Mercy Hospital Fairfield, Heartland of Woodridge, and her home caregivers for their care and support.
