Sammy Hopkins, age 75 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, April 7, 2025. Sammy was born in Hamilton, Ohio on October 16, 1949 to Ernie Hopkins and Eula (Clark) Hopkins. Sammy married his wife, Belva, on July 2, 1971. Sammy graciously served our country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He belonged to Eagles 407, Moose 36, American Legion, Monkeys, Amvets, and VFW. He enjoyed bowling, playing darts and cards, fishing, and spending time with his big family
Sammy is survived by his loving wife Belva Hopkins; Daughter, Cindy (Marty) Bowlin; Grandchildren Sammy (Brittany) Anders, Gerry (Christina) Anders, Drew Bowlin, Brandi Anders, Destiney (Kris) Shaw, Kari (Dylan) Roark, Zachary (Siara) Bowlin; Great Grandchildren, Sam, Landon, Wyatt, Cole, Carissa, Caleigh, Caiden, Ridley, Faith, Wesley, Emma, Grace, Paislee, Heartlynn, Hope, Alexa, Brantley, Bentley, plus one on the way; and one brother, Gary Hopkins. Sammy was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Eula; Siblings, Theodore Hopkins, Darla Strong, Dallas Hopkins, Danny Hopkins and Great Grandson Christian Anders
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Steve Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you contribute to services directly to Brown Dawson Flick by telephone or in person and indicate Sammy Hopkins’ name. Family and friends are invited to gather at Amvets Post 1983 located 914 Ross Ave. Hamilton Ohio 45013 immediately following the conclusion of the graveside service at Butler County Memorial Park.
