Sammy R. Shepherd, 75, of Overpeck, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. He was born in Texarkana, Arkansas on May 21, 1941 to William R. and Lela (Goodwin) Shepherd. Sam was retired from AK Steel after thirty nine years of service. He was a veteran of Vietnam with the United States Navy. Sam was a member of the Middletown Moose #501, Lifetime member of the American Legion Post 218, and a member of the Eagles #528.
He is survived by two sons, Sam Shepherd and Jeff Shepherd; two brothers, Mark Shepherd and Bobby (Judy) Shepherd; and four grandchildren, Samantha, Tiffany, Brittany, and Trevor. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be held at the Solid Rock Church, 903 Union Rd, Lebanon, OH 45036 on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 5:00 PM.
