It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Eversole (née Guiler) of Hamilton, OH, on Saturday, June 29, at the age of 76. Sharon passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, including her devoted husband of 57 years, James Eversole. Sharon was born to Fred and Elsie Guiler, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; their three sons, Robert (Celeste), Jason (Bridgid), and Michael (April); her brother, Bruce Guiler (Mary); and her sister, Connie Nelson (Ken). Sharon was the proud grandmother to six beautiful grandchildren: Mikayla, Casey (Zach), Drew (Katie), Riley, Karsyn, and Lillie, to whom she always said, "Love you more." A proud wife of a Marine, Sharon cherished the legacy of her three sons, all of whom followed in their father's footsteps and served as Marines. After settling back in Hamilton, Sharon continued her career to ultimately serve over 27 years in the Social Security Administration.
Upon retirement, she became an active volunteer in her community, contributing significantly to the Hospice of Hamilton, Open Hands Food Pantry of Hamilton, and Darrtown United Methodist Church, where she was a lifelong member. Sharon's greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, who brought immense happiness to her life. She found pleasure tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, where anyone was welcome to a start of her Texas Bluebonnets or to take as many fresh vegetables as one could want. Sharon was also a talented crafter, often gifting loved ones with her beautiful crochet projects and cross-stitch pictures, continuing the legacy of her mother, Elsie and passing it on to her grandchildren. Her dedication to her family, community, and faith will be remembered by all who knew her. Sharon's legacy of love, service, and commitment to others will live on in the hearts of her family and friends and through them will continue to touch future generations.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5th from 11am to 1pm followed by a memorial service at Darrtown United Methodist Church, 4309 Walnut St. Oxford, OH 45056, and interment at Darrtown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Sharon requested that donations be made to two organizations close to her heart: Open Hands Food Pantry of Hamilton and Darrtown United Methodist Church.
