Shelby Jean Jones

Shelby Jean Jones nee Simpson, age 75, loving wife of John J. Jones, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. She was born in Pinch Ridge, West Virginia on December 9, 1937 the daughter of John and Myrtle (Knapp) Simpson. Shelby enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking (Master Chef), raising Yorkshire Terriers, and entertaining family and friends. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. Shelby was known for her impeccable taste in fashion and interior design. She was a devoted Christian and attended Hamilton Richmond Road Baptist Church. Shelby will be missed and cherished forever by many loving and loyal friends and family members. On June 22, 1955 in Clendenin, West Virginia she married John J. Jones, and they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary one month prior to her death.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, John J. Jones; her son, Tony F. (Jill) Jones; daughter, Deborah J. Jones; grandchildren Sherri (Jeff) Stilkey, Megan (Bobby) Harrell, Andrew (Akiko) Jones, and Tony D. Jones; great-grandchildren Jackson Stilkey, Simon Harrell, Lucy Stilkey, and Lucas Jones; and a brother, Daniel (Gloria) Simpson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Aubrey Jones.

Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 AM Saturday. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery.
