Shirley Collins

Shirley Lunsford Collins, age 61 of Hamilton passed away at her residence on Thursday, February 10, 2011. She was born in Hamilton on August 28, 1949 the daughter of Henry and Flora (Young) Stewart. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. On July 31, 1976 in Hamilton she married Bruce Collins Sr., and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2003.

She is survived by two sons, Tracy (Elisa) Lunsford and Michael (Mary) Lunsford, both of Hamilton; two daughters, Tina Guenthner of Hamilton and Dawn (Bill) Turpin of Bishop, California; a brother, Wayne (Samantha) Stewart of Hamilton; a sister, Ruby Thomas of Hamilton; 6 grandchildren, Chelsea, Breonica, Tracy Wayne, Michael, Hunter, and Kaitlyn, and 2 great-grandchildren, Nathan and Stephen, and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two grandchildren, Stacy Moermond, Jr. and Jaelynn McKinney.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Paul Hensley, of New Beginning Tabernacle officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Hospice of Southwest Ohio for their care and concern.
