Shirley Louise Evans, age 79 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, September 19, 2016. Shirley was born in Owsley County, KY on June 20, 1937 to Fred and Cynthia (Hall) McIntire. On July 12, 1952 in Kentucky she married James Evans who preceded her in death on March 14, 1998. Shirley was a life member of the Victory Chapter #447 Eastern Star in Louisville, KY.
Shirley is survived by her children, Regina Sortman, and Jimmie (Eneida) Evans; 3 grandchildren, Amber Scalf, December Pennekamp, and Jeremy Evans; 3 great grandchildren, Haylee, Logyn, and Tristyn. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Evans; a daughter, Gwen Thompson; 11 siblings; and her parents.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. www.browndawsonflick.com
