Shirley Joan (Hornsby) Eversole, age 72 of Hamilton went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on May 3rd, 2009 at 8:45 PM at the home of her daughter Brenda, surrounded by family and friends and a very special Hospice Nurse, Angi Patton.
She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on August 19th 1936, the youngest daughter of Delbert and Lillian Mae (Harris) Hornsby. She received her education in Hamilton City Schools.
She and her husband worked very hard to raise six children; she as a Homemaker and a School Bus Driver for Landmark Christian School, providing the means for her kids to receive a Christian Education. As a young Mother, she received Christ as her Saviour and faithfully served the Lord and was dedicated to raising her children in church and teaching them to serve the Lord as well. She was especially dedicated to serving the Lord by working in the nurseries at Landmark Baptist Temple, Grace Baptist Church and Tri County Baptist Church.
She is survived by her Husband Ronald Eversole, her children: Delbert Osborne, Michael (Dawn) Osborne, Gregory (Rhonda) Eversole, Laura (Timothy) Brockman, James (Jennifer) Eversole and Brenda (Jeff) Helton; her grandchildren: David Osborne, Jennifer Osborne, Pam (Aaron) Behr, Rebecca Eversole, Jessica Eversole, Samantha Eversole, Madison Brockman, Lindsey Victoria Joseph-Eversole, Hunter Eversole and Savannah Eversole, her only surviving sister, Helen Johnson, many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and her church family at Tri County Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Dale Hornsby, sisters Dorothy Cales and June Browning and her beloved grandson, Delbert Lee Osborne Jr. who also went home to be with the Lord on June 22nd, 2006.
Your passing has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled until we are with you in Heaven. You will be greatly missed and forever loved. But don’t worry, we will be ok. For we know that you have just gone home, and this is not Goodbye for we will see you soon.
The family would like to thank the staff at Tri County Baptist Church, VITAS Hospice for all of their wonderful care. A special thank you to Angi Patton and Monica Murphy for all of their loving care and support and to two very special nieces, Penny Boyd and Karen Glardon who helped to care for her during her illness.
