Shirley A. Woods

Shirley A. Woods, age 75 of Brookville, Indiana passed away at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 4:54 AM. She was born in Culberson, North Carolina on December 26, 1936 the daughter of Welzie and Iris (Curtis) Tilson. On May 9, 1954 in Ridgelawn, South Carolina she married Ben D. Woods.

She is survived by her husband, Ben D. Woods of Brookville, Indiana; four children, Carolyn (Phillip) Morrison of Hillsboro, Ohio, Douglas E. (Terresa) Woods, Brenda (Allen) Villejoin, both of Brookville, Indiana, and Randy Woods of Hillsboro; a sister, Norma Sue Powell of Clayton, Georgia; six grandchildren, Timothy Slominsky, Jennifer (Lawrence) Vicarel, Michael (RaeAnn) Slominsky, Douglas Brewer, Jason McGuire, and Gregory McGuire; and four great-grandchildren, Brianna, Jacob, Regan, and Reese. She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Amanda Lynn Brewer; and a great-granddaughter, Destiny Marie Vicarel.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Tribute Program, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
