Sinnie J. Shell

Sinnie J. Shell, age 93 of Hamilton, passed away at the Laurels of Hillsboro on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. She was born in Rockcastle County, KY on May 27, 1920 to Melvin and Rachel (Creech) Jennings. On February 12, 1937 in Mt. Vernon, KY she married Luther Shell, and they were married for 63 years until his passing in 2000.

She is survived by her son, Ralph (Sue) Shell; 4 grandchildren, Darla VanAlphen, Vickie Bumgardner, Shari Walker, and Wayne Shell; 5 great-grandchildren, Chas, Darlyn, Trace, Alana, and Samantha; daughter-in-law, Norma Shell, and a sister, Nancy Roddy of Richmond, IN. She was preceded in death by her son, Lloyd Shell; and her husband, Luther Shell.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shell Scholarship Fund, C/O Southern State Community College, 100 Hobart Dr., Hillsboro, OH 45133 in her honor.
