Sophie Bovenizer

Sophie Bovenizer, age 93 of Hamilton, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 4:41 AM. She was born in Bellaire, Ohio on October 21, 1921 the daughter of Ricardo and Genoveffa (DelGuzzo) DeMarco. On November 26, 1942 in Bellaire, Ohio she married Paul L. Bovenizer and he preceded her in death in 1963.

She is survived by four children, Patricia (Bill) Brunner of Hamilton, Paula (Joost) van Adlesberg of Palos Verde Estates, California, Richard Bovenizer and Scott Bovenizer, both of Redondo Beach, California; one sister, Ida Mazur of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren, Bryan (Sheryl) Brunner, Christopher (Karen) Brunner, Michelle (Duke) Nyseth, Adam Sarcona, Anthony (Deseray) Sarcona, Kendel Bovenizer, and Rachel Bovenizer; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Herman DeMarco.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Pete Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. A private committal service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
