Sophie Pennington

Sophie Pennington, age 97 of Hanover Township passed away at Westover Retirement Community on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 4:30 PM. She was born in Manchester, Kentucky on November 15, 1912 the daughter of Dan and America (Bowling) Webb. On May 27, 1933 in Hamilton she married Herman Pennington. Sophie was employed by French Bauer Dairy for twenty years and then by Sealtest Diary for another twenty years, before she retired. She was a lifelong member of the Princeton Pike Church of God.

She is survived by her husband of 77 years, Herman Pennington of Hanover Township; two nieces, Amy Hubbard and Audrie Moore, both of Hamilton; one nephew, Lowell (Betty) Webb of Florida; numerous great nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Elzie, Will, Lloyd and Benjamin Webb; and three sisters, Mary Gibson, Martha Dickinson, and Olie Gambrell.

Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ron Medley of the Princeton Pike Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
