Stephen Daniel Cropenbaker

Stephen Daniel Cropenbaker, age 66 of Hamilton, passed away at University Hospital Cincinnati on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. He was born in Hamilton on November 11, 1949 to Stanley and Florence (Halcomb) Cropenbaker. On November 17, 1967 in Dobson, North Carolina he married Beulah McCleese. Stephen was employed as screen printer at US Playing Cards for many years and then owner and operator of the Marathon stations on Millville Ave. and Brookwood Ave. Steve enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was affectionately referred to as "Awpaw".

Steve was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who is survived by wife, Beulah Cropenbaker of Hamilton; three children, Alice Maureen (Robert) Dunn of Cincinnati, Dessie Miranda (Kyle Byrd) Cropenbaker of Hamilton, and Dan (Bunista) Cropenbaker of Hamilton; one brother, Bill (Lois) Cropenbaker of Hamilton; eight grandchildren, Pierson, Hampton, Sagen, Sadie, Sophie, Maggie, Caleb, and Makayla; his loving Scottish Terrier, Mr. McDougal; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Caleb Baker.

A memorial gathering will be held at Princeton Pike Church of God, 6101 Princeton Glendale Road, on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 4:00 PM until the time of memorial service at 6:00 PM with Pastor Jake Jacobs officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
