Steven R. Harris

Steven R. Harris, age 64 of Fairfield passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 10:36 PM. He was born in Hamilton on May 18, 1946 the son of Ralph and Orlean (Van Winkle) Harris. Steven was employed as a manager at Joseph Chevrolet for several years and was also a bus driver for Hamilton City Schools for a year, retiring in 2009. In June, 2005 he married Kathleen Carroll, and she preceded him in death in 2007.

He is survived by one son, Chris (Angel) Harris of Fairfield; two grandchildren, Dylan and Peyton Harris; a niece, Kellee (Bryan) Peters and their children Connor and Devon of Hamilton; a brother-in-law, James Smith of Gardendale, Alabama; and a cousin, Charlene (Kevin) Via and their children Amber and Shaun of Camden. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Charlene Smith.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Rick Witt of Faith Pentecostal Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
