Sylvia C. Wimmer

Sylvia C. Wimmer age 74 of Hamilton passed away in Mercy Franciscan at Schroder on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 4:10PM. She was born in Hamilton on October 11, 1935, the daughter of Rudolph & Mildred (Mick) Wimmer. Sylvia was a 1953 graduate of Notre Dame High School, a member of St. Peter In Chains Catholic Church, a member of Rosary Alter Society and Happy Travelers of the Parish, and enjoyed traveling with her family and photography as her hobby. She was employed as a secretary for Ringel’s Furniture Store for fifty years retiring in 2003.

She is survived by one brother; Rudolph Wimmer of Hamilton; four sisters, Janet McKinney, Judith (Sam) Arminio; Mary Rose Richardson and Joan (Robert) Naylor all of Hamilton. Twelve nephews; Chuck (Melanie) McKinney, Pat McKinney, Michael (Teri) McKinney, David McKinney, Marc (Traci) Arminio, Sam (Lindsay) Arminio Jr., Don Richardson, Bob Naylor Jr., Joe (Jennifer) Naylor, Matt (Donna) Naylor, Rudy (Cathy) Wimmer, Tom (Marivic) Wimmer, three nieces; Missy (Doug) Krusenklaus, Annette (John) Jones, Gina (Phil) Kreke and also by twenty-two great nieces and nephews; Chad, Brett, Andrew, Erika, Patrick, Kayla, Matt, Joe, Alyssa, Ashley, Alexa, Kyle, Nicole, Johnathan, Brittany, Amber, Darian, Katelyn, Andrew, Kai, Sophia and Jake. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers; Thomas and Michael Wimmer and two brother- in-laws, Chuck McKinney and Don Richardson.

Prayers will be held at the Brown- Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave. on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 9:15AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter In Chains Catholic Church at 10AM with Father Tim Bunch and Father Patrick Duffey celebrants. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5PM to 8PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Badin High School, Schroder Benevolent Fund or to St. Peter In Chains Catholic Church. The family wishes to extend their heartfeld thank you to the entire staff and nurses of Schroder Manor and to Ron Murphy for their loving care and concern.
