Terry L Liggett

Terry Lee Liggett passed away on September 22, 2026, in Hamilton, Ohio, at the age of 79. He was born on June 2,1947, in Hagerstown, Maryland. He was a 1965 graduate of Boonsboro High School, Boonsboro Maryland. He lived a life marked by steady commitment to his family, his work, and the many organizations and interests that brought him joy.

Terry served his country with pride in the United States Army National Guard from 1966 until 1972. After his military service, he built a career in retail management spanning over 45 years with Montgomery Ward, Gold Circle, Hills, Ames, and Sears Hardware. He approached his work with the same dependable spirit that defined him in every part of life, earning the respect of coworkers and customers alike.

Outside of work, Terry was a master of the Weber grill and took pride in honing his craft and sharing his creations with his family and friends. He also loved hunting and spending time in nature, where he felt most at home. These interests were more than pastimes to him. They were part of the rhythm of his life and a source of lasting enjoyment. He was a lifetime member and past president of the Butler County Sportsmen Club, where his leadership and fellowship were appreciated by many. He was also a loyal member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Monkey Mutual Aid Society and the American Legion; associations that reflected his commitment to friendship, service, and community.

Family was central to Terry's life. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kay Knauff Liggett; his daughters, Amanda (John) Bell and Michelle Eversole; and his grandchildren, Andrew Eversole, Allison Eversole and Catherine Bell. He cherished his family deeply and took great pride in them. The love he shared with them was steady and genuine, and his legacy will continue through the many memories they hold close. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Leona Keyser Poffenberger. Terry’s life was shaped by the strength of his family and by the many relationships he built over the years.  

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Terry on Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 2pm to 4pm at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home located at 1350 Millville Avenue in Hamilton, Ohio. His family would very much like to thank the nurses and staff from Hospice of Cincinnati in Hamilton for the care and comfort they provided Terry and his family. In lieu of flowers, the Liggett family has requested for everyone to hug their loved ones and keep them close to honor Terry's love for his family.
