Thomas Jerry Downie

Thomas Jerry Downie, age 55 of Hamilton went to be with the Lord at Hospice of Hamilton on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 9:00 AM. He was born in Hamilton on February 8, 1955 the son of Jerry Robert and Ugettah Ruth "Peggy" (Hall) Downie. Tom was a member of Trinity Pentecostal Church. On November 29, 1986 in Oxford he married Susan Sparks.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Susan Downie of Hamilton; a son, Aaron Downie of Hamilton; a daughter, Rebecca (Andy) Derickson of Mason; and five grandsons, Matthew, Nathaniel, Jared, Joshua, and Benjamin Derickson. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Funeral service will be held at the Trinity Pentecostal Church, 1356 Sample Road, Reily (tpcreilyoh.com), on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Charles Petit and Pastor Aaron Carter officiating. Burial will follow in College Corner Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM. The family extends a very special thank you to all those who cared for Tom during his illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
