Thomas W. Grubbs

Thomas W. Grubbs, age 88 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Saturday, October, 15, 2011 at 5:45 PM. He was born in Clay County, Kentucky on August 16, 1923 the son of Tom and Dora (Miller) Grubbs. Thomas was a veteran of World War II with the United States Army. He was owner and operator of Thomas Grubbs Construction for more than 50 years. On December 9, 1957 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana he married Louise Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Grubbs of Hamilton; one grandson, Douglas Grubbs of Hamilton; three great grandchildren, Julia Kay Jones, Miranda Joyce Grubbs, and Douglas Grubbs Jr.; five great great grandchildren, Mason, Hayden, Leyland, Arianna, and Harley; and a sister, Helen Day of Manchester, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Clifford, McKinley, Oscar, and Mattie Grubbs.

Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Coy Grubbs officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
