Thomas G. Mick

Thomas G. Mick, age 71, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012. He was born in Hamilton on July 20, 1940, the son of Paul and Helen Mick. On August 27, 1960, he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Edith Tackett. Tom graduated from Miami University in 1962 with a degree in Pulp and Paper Technology. Tom worked for the City of West Carrollton as a Utility Superintendent until his retirement in 1997. He was a dedicated member of The Polled Hereford Cattle Association and enjoyed taking care of his cattle at home. Tom lived in Chillicothe for 15 years during which he was a 4H Advisor and was very active in the Adena Local Schools Athletic Boosters Club. Tom valued his family, especially watching his grandchildren in various sporting events. He was a Right to Life advocate and a willing servant of the Lord, showing compassion for those in need and enriching the lives of all those he met.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Mick; children, Timothy (Melissa) Mick of Seven Mile, OH; Teresa (Shawn) Fookes of Seven Mile, OH; Angie (Pat) Currier of Hamilton, OH; Jenny (Vic) Dennis of Trenton, OH; and Cathy (Michael) Wolf of Trenton, OH; 14 grandchildren; and siblings, Michael Mick, Marilyn Uhl and Barbara Goodwin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Helen, and his brother Paul.

Visitation will be 5-8pm, Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Thursday April 19, at the St. Ann Catholic Church 3000 Pleasant Avenue, Hamilton with Fr. Stephen Mondiek officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Donations may be made to Right to Life of Butler County C/O Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2550 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013.
