Thomas J. Schreck

Thomas J. Schreck, age 82 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 11:54 PM. He was born in Hamilton on June 16, 1928 the son of Howard and Marie (Schoeck) Schreck. Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1950 and was employed as a manager at Schreck Burial Vault and Baxter Vault Company, retiring in 1992. He was a member of K of C #968, Elks Lodge #93, Monkey Mutual Aid Society, Eagles #407, and St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church.

He is survived by four sons, Joseph (Deborah Meyer) Schreck of Hamilton, Kenneth Schreck of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Donald Schreck and Robert Schreck, both of Hamilton; two daughters, Cindy (Michael Dean) Barr of West Point, Utah and Christy (Sean) Howard of Dayton, Ohio; former spouse and devoted friend, Betty Schreck of Dayton; two sisters, Jeanette Schreck of Englewood, Ohio and Martha Pater of Hamilton; and four grandsons, Aaron and Michael Barr, Sam Schreck, and Keith Howard. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Helen (Scheringer) Schreck; and a stepbrother, Donald Dahlmann.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 224 Dayton Street, on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
