Thomas John Spindler

Thomas John Spindler, age 73 of Fairfield passed away at Triple Creek Retirement Community on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 9:57PM after battling Parkinson’s for the past several years.  Tom was born in Hamilton, Ohio on January 23, 1951 to Robert and Ann (Smith) Spindler.  Tom graduated from Stephen T. Badin High School in 1969.  On July 5, 1975 Tom married his wife Patty (Rimer) Spindler at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Hamilton.  Tom was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic church through most of his adult life.  He was a devoted family man who would do anything to help his parents, wife, children and grandchildren.  Tom graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Thomas More College in 1973 and then later earned a masters degree in business administration from Xavier University in 1981.  Tom worked in various accounting positions at Armco (AK Steel) in Middletown, Ohio, Fernald in Ross, Ohio, and Harris Products in Mason, Ohio.  Tom retired in 2016 and over the last few years he spent a lot of time making memories with his family.  His five grandchildren meant the world to him, and spending time with them was what he treasured most in his final years.

Tom is survived by his mother, Ann (Smith) Spindler; his daughter Susan (Spindler) Taylor, and husband Steven Taylor and children, Benjamin, Aaron, and Katherine Taylor.  Son, Thomas Richard Spindler, and his wife Teri (Dickerson) Spindler, and children, Sarah and Carolyn Spindler; as well as many cousins and friends.  Tom was preceded in death by his wife Patty (Rimer) Spindler, father Robert Spindler, and his brother Richard Spindler.

Funeral service will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 12191 Mill Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio, on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Visitation will be from 9:00AM to 10:30AM.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:30AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Parkinson’s Disease Association (APDA).
