Tom Dunham Sr., age 67 of Seven Mile passed away at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 6:46 PM. He was born in Hamilton on August 28, 1941 the son of Frank and Callie (Martin) Dunham. Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Army in 1966 during the Vietnam Era. He was employed as a mill worker at Armco and as a St. Clair Township police officer. Tom was also a volunteer firefighter for Seven Mile, was an avid history buff, and loved making people laugh. On June 21, 1969 in Seven Mile, he married Judy Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy Dunham of Seven Mile; two sons, Gerald Thomas Dunham II of Hamilton and Ryan Elvis Dunham of Idaho; three daughters, April Sue (Jeff) Miller of Hamilton, Shonda Gail Lynn (Brandon) Griffin of Trenton, and Mindy Kay (fiance Mike Owens) Dunham of Seven Mile; two brothers, William (Juanita) Dunham of Hamilton and Robert Dunham of New Miami; a sister, Doris Gay of Hamilton; nine grandchildren, Niki, Ashley, Tommy III, Joey, Travis, Xach, Brandon II, Michael, and Kenzie; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Donald, Eddie, Edward, Kenny, and Gilbert; and two sisters, Helen and Evelyn.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bob Hope officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM. At Tom’s request, in lieu of flowers, "Buy yourself a Big Boy."
