Tommy D. Taylor

April 11, 1949 — December 12, 2018

Thomas D. Taylor, age 69 of Hamilton, has gone home to be with his Lord Jesus on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Tommy passed away at his home of 40 years.Tommy was born in Hamilton, Ohio on April 11, 1949, son of Henry Clay Taylor and Glana Mae Pergram Taylor. Tommy had a passion for Hot Rods from a very young age and built three garages in his backyard where he spent countless hours doing what he loved. He retired from AK Steel of Middletown, OH where he was a Rigger. He was drafted in 1969-1971 into the US Army infantry and served at Ft. Knox Oklahoma as a Cannon Operator and head chef. Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Dawanna K. Taylor after 37 years of marriage; his parents and his son, Kevin Taylor. He leaves behind his two daughters, Susan (Taylor) Carmody and Heather Taylor and son-in-law, Timothy Carmody. He will be missed dearly by his 4 grandchildren Brandon Wells (Larissa), Caleb Taylor, Tommy Taylor and Shyanne Haag and 1 great-grandson Landon Garner. "Paps" gave up his own passions and personal interests to help raise, provide for and to center his life around his kids and grandkids. Tommy leaves behind two sisters Donna Eten (Chet) and Sandy Morgan (Dane); 3 brothers James Taylor (Delores), Todd Taylor and Rodney Taylor. Tommy also leaves behind his stepmother Henrietta Taylor; stepsister Pamela Stewart (Leonard) and two stepbrothers Rick Robbins (Mona) and Steve Robbins (Levona) and many nieces and nephews. Tommy will be sadly missed by numerous dear friends with too many to mention. A sincere thank you goes out to Tommy’s sister Sandy and his son-in-law TJ as well his niece Shanda for all of their long hours and time they dedicated to care for Tommy during the last stages of his illness. The family would like to thank Hospice of Cincinnati for their services. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio followed by funeral service at 12:00 pm with Pastor Bryan Price of Jesus is Amazing Church officiating. Graveside services to follow at Hickory Flats Cemetery on Morganthaler Rd., Hamilton. In honor of Tommy please feel welcomed to wear jeans and your favorite hat and car t-shirt to services.
