Trey Michael Smallwood

Trey Michael Smallwood, age 24 passed away at his residence on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 4:50 AM after a courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy. He was born in Hamilton on November 8, 1986 the son of Troy Smallwood and Tonya Swihart. Trey was a 2005 graduate of Hamilton High School and was the sports announcer for the girl’s basketball team. He was avid sports fan, enjoying the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals but his favorite sport was basketball.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Tonya and Bryan Best; his father and stepmother, Troy and Shawna Smallwood; three siblings, Kristen Smallwood, Derrick Best, and Sydney Best; his grandparents, Larry and Rita Smallwood; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Julia Swihart and his brother, John Stevenson Best.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Valerie Trissell of God’s Temple officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to StarShine Hospice and Interim Nursing for all their care and support.
