Tyrus H. Wical

Tyrus H. Wical, age 70 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 4:32 PM. He was born in Sabina, Ohio on November 11, 1940 the son of Odus "Tobe" and Violet (Cooper) Wical. Tyrus was employed as a correctional officer for the State of Ohio at the Lebanon Correctional Institution. He attended Millville Avenue Church of God and found salvation with is Lord on April 30, 2011. Tyrus was a member of the Masonic Lodge #055 in Franklin. He loved to tell jokes, play cards, and work in his yard. Baseball was one of his greatest joys in life that he shared with his father. On May 27, 1995 in Hamilton he married Nancy Meyers.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Wical of Hamilton; a daughter, Crystal Wical of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; a son, Eric (Jessica Jowers) Meyers of Hamilton; his mother-in-law, Wilma Meyers, whom he loved enough to open his heart and home; and five grandchildren, Lily Wical of Charleroi, Pennsylvania, Eric C. Meyers, Abel Meyers, Madison Jowers, and Alex Jowers, all of Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lillie Wical; and his father-in-law, Clarence Meyers.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Joe Clark of Millville Avenue Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Sabina Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852-3914 or to The American Heart Association, 15120 Collections Center Dr., Chicago, IL 60693.
