Ulysus Hurst

Ulysus Hurst, age 88 of Fairfield, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022. Ulysus was born in Jellico, Tennessee on July 22, 1934 to Harrison Hurst and Mary Jane (Matthews) Hurst. On August 17, 1952 he married the love of his life, Betty, and they were together for 69 years. Ulysus was a retired Teamster and was a member of the Mt. Healthy Masonic Temple for many years. He enjoyed watching the Bengals and the Cincinnati Reds, and Ulysus was a devoted husband, dad, and papaw. Ulysus is survived by his daughter, Anna Lou (Dexter) Jackson; two sons, Ron (Patti) Hurst, and Mike (Missy) Hurst; two grandchildren, Lisa (Whitney) Hurst, and Brittany Hurst; two step-grandchildren, Dustin and Dylan Stallard; four great-grandchildren, Karson Jackson, Maddy (Andrew) Roberson, Kameron Jackson, and Lehte Hurst; and numerous other relatives and friends. Ulysus was preceded in death by his father, Harrison and his mother, Mary; his wife, Betty Hurst; his grandson, Kevin Jackson; and numerous siblings. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, with funeral services beginning at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Hamilton.
