Valerie D. Lake

Valerie D. Lake, age 51 of Morgan Township passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2008. She was born in Hamilton on January 21, 1957 the daughter of Keith and Janet (Johnson) Maxey. On May 12, 1979 in Hamilton she married Doug Lake. Valerie was employed as a nurse at Children’s Hospital for the past 18 years.

She is survived by her husband, Doug Lake of Morgan Township; four children, Ryan (Stephanie) Lake of Augusta, Georgia, Mandy (Craig) Smith of Hamilton, Justin Lake of Hamilton, and Becky Lake of Hamilton; her father, Keith (Pat) Maxey of Florida; her mother, Janet (Bill) Gadd of Florida; two brothers, Greg (Susan) Maxey of North Carolina and Tommy (Donna) Maxey of California; one grandson, Landon Lake; her grandma, Captolia Burk of Hamilton; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorial gathering will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, Thursday, September 18, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Rick Witt of Faith Pentecostal Church of Hamilton officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Valerie D. Lake Memorial Fund at any Fifth Third Bank Branch to benefit her grandson.
