Vanessa "Nessa" Suzette (Burkart) Thompson

Vanessa "Nessa" Suzette (Burkart) Thompson, age 39 of Hamilton passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 8:45 AM. She was born in Hamilton on July 23, 1969 the daughter of Richard and Diane (Lyons) Burkart. Nessa was employed at Lane Public Library for eight years. On June 19, 1993 Nessa married Robert "Gene" Thompson.

Nessa is survived by her husband; two children, Jessica and Nicolas Thompson, all of Hamilton; her parents, Richard and Diane Burkart of Crestview, Florida; a sister, Angelique (James) Howard of Crestview, Florida; a brother, Sean (Donna) Burkart of Fresno, Ohio; two nieces; five nephews; one step-daughter; 3 grandchildren; her loving, faithful German Shepherd, Axl; and numerous other relatives, friends, and dogs. Nessa is preceded in death by her niece, Angel Rain Howard; both grandfathers; and close dear friend Bradley Hughes.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Most Reverend Daniel L. Dolan of St. Gertrude The Great Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
