Velma Sakosan

Velma Sakosan, age 77 of Cincinnati passed away in Drake Center on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 4:35 AM. She was born in Cincinnati on May 26, 1933 the daughter of Tony and Frances (Brockman) Sakosan. Velma was a member of Princeton Pike Church of God and volunteered at various Cincinnati hospitals and at her church. She was employed as a secretary for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 40 years, retiring in 1998.

She is survived by cousins and caregivers Mike and Evelyn Miller of Carrollton, Kentucky, Ron and Delores Johnson of Hamilton, and Pastor Brenda and Homer Stevens of Fairfield, and a number of other cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Elder Wayne Schroader of Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of Central City, Kentucky officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
