Verlie Mary Spivey, age 87 of Hamilton passed away at Middletown Regional Hospital on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 12:47 AM. She was born in Kentucky on May 26, 1920 the daughter of John A. and Martha Ann (Cobb) Jarvis. On December 9, 1950 in Liberty, Indiana she married Darrell Spivey.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell Spivey of Hamilton; a daughter, Sue (Jim) Smith of Hamilton; a foster daughter, Connie Marie Bolin of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Susan Elizabeth (Danny) Proffitt of Middletown and Darrell Lawrence (Sarah) Smith of Forest Park; a great-grandson, Noah Christian Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Timothy Eugene; four brothers, Pearl, Edwin, Clayton, and Reynold Jarvis; and two sisters, Carol Ann Cavolt and Dorothy V. Howard.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Valerie Trissell of Trinity Family Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
