Verna Jean Fugate

Verna Jean Fugate, age 80 of Hamilton, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Verna was born in Hamilton, Ohio on December 19, 1944 to Merle Evans and Jeannette (Durrough) Ruhl.

Verna is survived by her son, Bryan (Jody) Houck, his children, Christopher Houck, Patrick (Jenna) Houck, and Ava Houck, and Patrick’s children, Maverick and Chase; son, James (Yvette) Houck Jr. and his children, Ashley and Tyler; her sister, Miriam (Michael) Walser; her brother, Marvin (Diana) Follick; and other relatives and friends. Verna was preceded in death by her parents, Merle Evans and Jeannette Ruhl; husband, Raymond Fugate; and her beloved significant other, James Theodore "Ted" Kerby.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Monday, March 10, 2025 at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
