Vernice Loman, age 77, of Hamilton passed away at her residence, surrounded by family and friends, on Thursday, February 4, 2010. She was born in London, Kentucky on February 27, 1932 the daughter of William F. and Minnie (Durham) Brewer. Vernice was employed at Mercy Hospitals, for 20 years retiring in 1997. Vernice a devoted Christian, attended Princeton Pike Church of God. A devoted mother, she enjoyed cooking, (especially Sunday dinner for her family) and caring for neighbors and friends. On September 13, 1969 in Newport, Kentucky she married James A. Loman who passed away in 2004.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Brewer of Middletown, Michelle (Glenn Allen) Baker of Seven Mile, and Jennifer (Raymond) Hartmann of Hamilton; step-daughter, Maryanne (David) Doss and family; six grandchildren, Shawna (Rodney), Brian (Becky), Dalton, Seth, Mandy, and Zach; three great-grandchildren, Christina, Dylan, and Andrew; three sisters, Lucy Mullins, Ada Humfleet, and Zelma McKnight all of London, Kentucky; a brother-in-law, Ovie (Edie) Loman of Palm Harbor, Florida; a sister-in-law, Myrtle Stewart of Fairfield; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, George Brewer and James E. Brewer; and four sisters, Donna Hammons, Bam Hammons, Eunice Brewer, and Grace Corrnett.
Funeral services will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., on Monday Feb. 8th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Denny Loman and Rev. Arnie Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
