Vernon W. Grewe

Vernon W. Grewe, age 68 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 5:15 PM. He was born in Hamilton on December 8, 1940 the son of Leroy and Marjorie (Sloneker) Grewe. Vernon was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era from 1963 to 1965. He was employed as a landscaper and was the owner/operator of his own nursery. On March 14, 1987 in Hamilton he married Amy Baker.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Grewe of Hamilton; two children, Jordan Grewe and Jeremy Grewe, both of Hamilton; a brother, Herbert Grewe of Parumph, Nevada; a sister, Beverly Hodges of Cincinnati; his beloved pet rabbit, Hair; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Alan Weaver of Hamilton Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
