Vernon F. Hartman Jr.

May 16, 1937 — November 15, 2024

Vernon F. Hartman Jr., age 87 of Seven Mile, went to his heavenly home on Friday, November 15, 2024. Vern was born in West Elkton, Ohio on May 16, 1937 to Vernon and Harriet Hartman. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and National Guard from 1956-1965. On July 18, 1959, he married the love of his life, Nora Angel. Vern retired from Armco Steel, as a diesel mechanic, after 32 years of service. He was a faithful servant of God since his 20s and a dedicated member of Hamilton Church of God, serving in many capacities such as a teacher, board member, head usher and security.

Vern is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nora Hartman; his children, Cindi (John) Bowman, Vern (Connie) Hartman III, Wendy (Mark) Tuttle and Nicole (Arnold Duncan) Thomas; his grandchildren, Andrea (John), Justin (Leslie), Ashley (Cody), Austin (Briana), and Storm (Blaine); his great-grandchildren, Justin, Lindsey, Skyelar, Railynn, Lilli, Starrla, Angel, Sophia, River, Olivia, Brooks, Akira, Ada, Brynlee, Nash, Lottie, and one on the way, Alexia; his siblings, Joy (Bucky) Hall, Janet (Ronnie) Reliford and Joe (Debbie) Hartman; his in-laws, Judy (Danny) Philpot and Roger Angel; several loving nieces and nephews, his special friends, Ernie and Imogene Jarvis and Gary and Kay Short; and his loving church family.  Vern was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, George and David Hartman; and his grandson, Tyler Tuttle.

Visitation will be held at Hamilton Church of God, 1760 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Funeral Service will follow at 5:00 PM at the church with Pastor Alan Weaver officiating.  Memorial contributions can be made to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or to Communication First (Autism).
