Viola Cornett

Viola Cornett, age 76 of Hamilton passed away at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at 1:10 PM. She was born in Butler County on March 3, 1932 the daughter of Elby and Birdie (Stewart) Brockman. Viola was an employee of Avon and retired after more than twenty years of service and was a member of the Avon Founder’s Club. She attended God’s House of Sure Deliverance. On June 28, 1952 in Liberty, Indiana she married John R Cornett who preceded her in death in 1989.

Viola was a loving mother and grandmother who is survived by four children, Gary (Debbie) Cornett of Franklin, Tennessee, Darrell (Sandi) Cornett of Campbell, New York, Steven Cornett of Hamilton, and Sandy Davis of Hamilton; one brother, Merle Brockman of Hamilton; two sisters, Mabel Bailey and Wanda Oliver, both of Hamilton; eight grandchildren, Tina Sullivan, Tiffany Searcy, Traci Bishop, Jonathan Cornett, Tara Wright, Ashley Cornett, William Cornett and Austin Davis; five great-grandchildren, Andrew, Tori, Devin, Blake, and Avery; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Brad and Warren Brockman; and three sisters, Lola Mae Donald, Dorothy Hale, and Opal Loman.

Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, September 19, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
