Violet P. Martin

Violet P. Martin, age 93 of Hamilton, passed away at Bickford of Middletown on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 2:21AM. Violet was born in Alpine, Kentucky on September 1, 1930 to Crawford Cook and Pearl (Campbell) Cook.  Violet retired from Ross Local Schools, where she worked as the Cafeteria Manager.  She was a member of St. Clair Avenue Baptist Church since 1960.  She loved her church family and was very active in her church.  She loved her family, gardening, and working in her flowers.  She was also a very great seamstress.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Jack) Smith and Dan (Sherry) ; stepdaughter, Beth Simpson; grandchildren, Matt (Lindsey) Smith, Samantha (David) Moore, and Ben (Ashley) Simpson.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Morrow and John Martin; sisters, Ellen Amyx and Willa Jo Wells; her brother Tom Cook; and a special friend, Raleigh Gray; and her parents.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 12:00 PM with Rev. Orville Roach officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
