Virgie (Nee Joseph) Sweet

Virgie (nee Joseph) Sweet, age 95 of Trenton, passed away at Knolls of Oxford Health Care on Thursday, August 24, 2017. Virgie was born in Bailey Branch, Kentucky on January 18, 1922 to Samuel Joseph and Nancy Alice Bailey Joseph. Virgie loved her family and friends dearly. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking and was a former owner of a restaurant and upholstery shop. She imparted many life skills by the example of her life by loving the Lord and was ready to go home. Virgie has left behind a legacy of love and will be missed by many.

Virgie is survived by her children, Charles Lonnie (Patty) Hodge, Shelia Ann (Donald) McClung, David Samuel (Maria) Hodge and Alice Laverne (Demetrius) Klein; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great great- grandchildren and sister-in-law, Eloise Joseph. Virgie is preceded in death by her parents Samuel Joseph and Nancy Alice Bailey Joseph; siblings, Virgle, Felix, Vertis Joseph and Vercie Leme; sons, Larry Allen, Robert Keith and Richard Dean Hodge; husbands, John Carroll Hodge, Waldo Hilz and Dale Sweet.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Jeff Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
