Virginia F. "Jenny" Grollmus

Virginia F. "Jenny" Grollmus, age 76, of Wayne Twp., passed away suddenly at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Wednesday July 8, 2009. She was born in Hamilton on April 22, 1933 the daughter of Charles and Frances (Hazelwood) Coe. Jenny was a 1951 graduate of Seven Mile High School, a member of First Baptist Church of Hamilton and the Fort Hamilton Pioneer’s Camping Club. In addition to camping, Jenny enjoyed quilting and crafting. She was a former employee of Proctor and Gamble, Center Hill and along with her husband, operated Dale’s Texaco in Seven Mile. On June 1, 1951 in Hamilton, she married Robert Dale Grollmus, who preceded her in death on March 2, 2007.

She is survived by a son, Douglas (Kelly) Grollmus of Bonita Springs, Florida; a daughter, Becky (Doug) Willis of Hamilton; her mother, Frances Coe of Hamilton; a brother, David (Judy) Coe of Arkansas; two sisters, Charlotte Freeman of Clearwater, Florida and Loretta C. (Cecil) Lakes of Hamilton; a brother-in-law, Ron Ball of Hamilton; and a sister-in-law, Lorette Coe of St. Petersburg, Florida. She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; two brothers, Paul and Joseph Coe; and a sister, Marilyn Ball.

Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday. July 14, 2009 at 12 noon with Dr. Dennis Metzger and Pastor William C. Brantingham officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Hamilton or American Heart Association. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Jenny’s special friends for their care and concern.
