Virginia (Allen) Hensley, age 81 of New Miami passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, September 15, 2008 at 9:43 AM. She was born in Clay County, Kentucky on July 17, 1927 the daughter of Hugh F. and Oma (Burch) Allen. Virginia was employed as the Clerk Treasurer for the Village of New Miami for many years. She was a 1947 graduate of Hamilton High School, and a member of the New Miami First Church of God for over 40 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Cathy A. (Troy) Gabbard of Hamilton and Connie L. (Phillip) Harmon of Fairfield; two grandsons, Joshua Ryan (Nicki) Lawson of Columbus and Preston Alden Harmon of Fairfield; one brother, William (Judy) Allen of Salem, Oregon; and two sisters, Estelle (Paul) Newkirk of Hamilton and Alana (Glenn) Bicknell of Bloomfield, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; father of her children Carson Hensley; a son Kenneth Wayne Hensley; and a brother, Hugh F. Allen Jr.
Funeral Service will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, September 19, 2008 at 2:00 PM with Rev. David Farthing and Rev. Earl Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
