Virginia Pierson

Virginia Pierson, age 84 of Liberty Township passed away at Cottingham Retirement Community on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11:20 PM. She was born in Owsley County, Kentucky on March 28, 1925 the daughter of Arch and Edna (Bowles) Bell. Virginia was a member of Stahlheber Road Baptist Church. On May 23, 1952 in Connersville, Indiana she married Edward Pierson, and he preceded her in death in 1998.

She is survived by a son, Mitchell Pierson of Hamilton; four sisters, Dessie Bowling of West Chester, Ruby Vail of Hamilton, Anna Adams of Lansing, Michigan, and Dorothy Bell of Hamilton; three brothers, Clyde Bell of Lakeland, Florida, John Bell of Oxford, and Clarence Bell of Lansing, Michigan; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including devoted nieces Elizabeth Spurlock of Liberty Township, Deana Tomes of Liberty Township, Theresa Singleton of Cincinnati, and Edna Lakes of Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Modell Campbell and Ruth Bodecker; and two brothers, Paul and Eldon Bell.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Chaplain George Ragan of Vitas Hospice officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Butler County MRDD.
