Virginia Rose Johnson

July 13, 1930 — March 19, 2014

Virginia Rose Johnson passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 19, 2014. Virginia was born on July 13, 1930 in Wendell, Idaho, on a dairy farm. While attending Idaho State University she met her one true love George Johnson. Virginia and George married and permanently settled in Hamilton, Ohio in 1975. There they became active and devoted members of Westwood Presbyterian Church. Virginia devoted much of her spare time, outside of being a homemaker, to community service. She volunteered at Fort Hamilton Hospital and was very proud when she earned her 5000 hour pin. Virginia was a skilled seamstress and was a genius in the garden. Her favorite activities were varied and included traveling the U.S. with George, playing Bridge with dear friends, holiday celebrations and family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her husband George after 55 years of marriage. She is survived by her son Scott Johnson of West Chester, daughter Debbie Young of Charlotte, NC and grand children Reece Johnson, Brendan Young and Shannon Young.

Visitation (10 am) and a memorial service (11 am) will be held at Westwood Presbyterian Church, 1068 Stahlheber Road, on Saturday, March 29th. A graveside service will immediately follow at the Butler County Memorial Park, 4570 Trenton Oxford Road, Hamilton. Memorials in Virginia’s honor may be made to Westwood Presbyterian Church.
