Wallace W. Mayes, age 83 of Hamilton, passed away at residence on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 10:25AM. He was born in Hamilton on May 26, 1929 to Burton and Katie (Binkley) Mayes. On July 4, 1950, in Hamilton, he married Janie Bell Baker. Wallace worked for Black and Clawson Co. for 22 years. During his years there he worked on the pumps for the Hoover Dam and worked on the first machine that made plastic bottles. He then worked for Hamilton Tool as a machinist for 15 years. Wallace was lifetime of the Monkey Mutual Aid Society in Hamilton, MENSA, and the National Horseshoe Pitcher’s Association.
Wallace is survived by his wife Janie, sons, Terry, Steve (Kathleen), Tom (Laura), and Alan (Mary); 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; siblings Betty, John, Joe, and Dickie. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Burton, Henrietta, and Mildred.
