Wallace Lee Wogenstahl

November 8, 1930 — December 29, 2021

Wallace Lee Wogenstahl, age 91 of Hamilton, passed away at his daughter’s residence on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. Wallace was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 8, 1930 to Cooper J. and Hazel (Carter) Wogenstahl. Wallace was married to Ruby Ruff (wogenstahl) October 1950. He served in the US Navy as a Sea-B group 129 for 7 years. He was a Certified Goodfellow in the QUIET BIRDMEN and a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association for 50 plus years. He was a member in good standing with the Camden Masonic lodge #159 for 60 years, ending as Grand Master in the lodge.

He enjoyed exercising at the Hamilton YMCA with his friends, he enjoyed fishing and hunting but his love for Family and Flying resulted in numerous adventures.

He worked for Glen J Ruff excavation for many years as a heavy equipment operator and then developed his own trash hauling business called Quick Trash which was eventually purchased by BFI where he was district manager. Due to his love for flying he also taught his son and 2 grandsons and nephew to fly float planes. During this time, he started a float plane endorsement school for veterans. In 1979 he and his 2 sons purchased a tourist camp in Ontario Canada called Wogenstahl’s Canadian Resort and Flying Bait Service. which was in operation for 20 plus years. He was an avid bush pilot which structured his love for flying for the rest of his life.

He is survived by his children Gary (Karen) Wogenstahl, Kathie Lanier, Kendra (Henry) Garrett, 11 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great Great Grandchildren, 2 siblings. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, Cooper Joseph Wogenstahl, Hazel H. E. Wogenstahl, his spouse, Ruby Wogenstahl, his son Terry Wogenstahl and Great Grandson Tanner.

Visitation will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11am -1pm with Pastor Debbie Lanier officiating. Masonic services will start at 1PM, with Funeral Services following visitation. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
