Walter Brockman

Walter Brockman, age 93 of Hamilton, passed away at Brookdale Springdale in Springdale, OH on Friday, September 30, 2016. Walter was born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 2, 1923 to Alvis Joel Brockman and Samantha (Welch) Brockman. Walter attended Hamilton City Schools. He was a United States Veteran in the Marine Corps from 1942-1946, serving in the Pacific Region. He was a pipe fitter for Champion Paper Company for 40 years retiring in 1986. Walter also became a private pilot at Hogan Air Field in Hamilton, OH on July 17, 1965. After retirement, Walter worked as a salesperson for Sears and also for UTS as a bus driver for disabled kids. He enjoyed TV, gardening, cutting grass, being outdoors, and listening to "ham radio" transmissions. Walter was a member of the VFW #1069 and DAV #15. On December 21, 1946 in Liberty, IN, he married Edna Martin and she preceded him in death in 1999.

Walter is survived by his daughter, Linda (Jim) Kearney; one daughter in law, Carol Brockman; one grandson, Jason (Barbara) Brockman; four great grandchildren, Aaron, Codey, Samantha, and Elizabeth; his yorkie, Ruffy III; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Walter was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dale Brockman; and three brothers Russell, Howard, and Clyde.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Thursday October 6, 2016 at 11:30AM. Entombment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on October 6, 2016 from 10:00AM to 11:30AM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
