Walter B. Gray Jr.

Walter B. Gray Jr., age 83 of Somerville, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016. Walterwas born in Hazard, Kentucky on December 14, 1932 to Walter B. Gray Sr. and Elizabeth (Thompson) Gray. On May 2, 1980 in Hamilton he married Anita Blackford. Walter served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and Vietnam War and the U.S. Army Reserves for 30 years, and was a life member of the VFW 7670 Chuck Cain Post, Amvets Post 1983, and the American Legion 377.

Walter is survived by his sons, Dan Gray and Timothy Gray; stepchildren, Melinda Bowers, Brian (Nora) Lyons, and Mark Lyons; sister, Mabel (Pete) Holt; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Gray in 2002; brothers, Thomas and James Gray; sisters, Clara Harold, Lucille "Teeter" Opatich, Mae "Cricket" Spalding, and Christine "Teenie" Hodge; and his parents.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 10:00am to 11:00am at the funeral home.
